What is Encore?
Search:

Encore is an innovative new way to find materials in the OSL libraries’ collections. It functions very much like a search engine (Google), so you do not need to search strictly by title, author or subject.
Type what you are looking for in the search box and click GO!  Encore will return a list of related items, some matching your search terms exactly and some not. If you do not see what you are looking for, use the Refine by options on the right hand side of the results page to narrow down what you are looking for. You can also limit by format, collection, location, language and publication date (located on the left side of the results page).

What can I find in this current search tool, Encore?

You will find the same materials that you found in the library’s classic catalog plus more: books, audio books, music, videos, digital audio books, and e-books. As an added feature you can also find related information, magazine articles and online encyclopedias from our subscription databases that will help complete your search. (Articles and More)


Can I request items, see what I have on hold, and keep a list of books in Encore?

  1. Yes, you can request items in Encore by clicking on the Request It button.
  2. When you click on My Account Encore will take you to the classic view so that you can see the items that you have on hold.
  3. You can create a list of books, music, etc. by clicking on the Add to Cart button when you have the item up on the screen. However, when you leave Encore the list will go away. (In the classic version, once you have logged in your list will remain.)

Can I still find books, etc. with the classic catalog?

Yes, the original online catalog is still available. You can still search it by selecting "classic catalog."  You don not  have to use Encore.
