    Full-Time Assistant Reference Librarian

    The West Warwick Public Library seeks an organized, adaptable individual for a, full-time, 35 hr/wk full-time position in Reference/Information Services. 

    Candidates should have demonstrated experience in public service. Duties include but are not limited to providing reference assistance in-person, by telephone, or e-mail, instructing library patrons in the use of the online catalog, periodical databases, other library resources and the Internet, providing basic public computer training classes, programming, cataloging materials, and making collection development recommendations. The Assistant Reference Librarian manages the Reference Department in the absence of the Head of Reference.

    Minimum qualifications:  MLS from an accredited institution. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Millenium, web page design and maintenance, and those with experience working in a public library setting are preferred.  MLS candidates will be considered. Union position. Benefits.

    Part-time Library Custodial Assistant

    The West Warwick Public Library seeks a dependable individual for a     part-time custodial assistant position to assist in the maintenance of our library facility.

    Duties include a wide range of maintenance, cleaning, and repair duties both in the building and on library grounds. This includes but is not limited to cleaning the foyer, offices, elevators, stairways, and public spaces, sanitizing and cleaning restrooms and re-stocking paper supplies, setting up and dismantling tables and chairs for programs as needed, and monitoring the library to ensure order and cleanliness.

    Minimum qualifications:  High School diploma or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualifications: One year of custodial experience. Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets and chemical usage. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to take direction and work with others.

    Hours: Monday/Tuesday 5-9 pm, Wed/Thursday 8-12 am, Friday 8-11 am - 19 hrs/wk. starting at $10.00/hr.
